The Cloudstory KidShade XIV is thoughtfully designed to give children ages three to ten years the same UV protection benefits as adult premium eyewear in a frame optimized for the physical demands of active children’s play. The frame is molded from medical-grade soft silicone rubber that returns to its original shape after being bent, twisted, or sat upon — a critical durability requirement for products used by children. There are no metal screws, sharp hinges, or rigid components that could cause injury during rough play or impact with playground equipment. Integrated flexible hinges are molded from a firmer silicone durometer in a continuous piece with the frame, eliminating the hinge screw failure point that causes most children’s glasses to break. The 44 mm polycarbonate lenses provide Category 3 UV400 protection and meet EN ISO 12312-1 child-specific safety standards for impact resistance. An elastic strap is integrated into the frame design at the temple tips, replaceable without tools. The frame interior includes raised tactile anti-slip dots behind the ear arch and on the nose bridge that grip skin during active movement.
