The Cloudstory OceanGuard X is built from the ground up for water sports environments where conventional sunglasses fail — whether from salt corrosion, sinking in shallow water, or slipping off during high-speed activity. The frame is injection-molded from buoyant modified polypropylene with a specific gravity of 0.88, ensuring that if the glasses enter the water, they remain floating at the surface with lenses facing upward for easy retrieval rather than sinking to the seabed. The lens-to-frame interface is sealed with a dual gasket system that prevents water infiltration during submersion at depths of up to 1 meter for 30 minutes, protecting the polarized lens assembly from delamination in saltwater environments. The polarized TAC lenses specifically target sea-surface glare with a vertically oriented polarization axis optimized for horizontal water reflection, providing a 99.9% glare elimination rate on flat water at midday sun angles. Megol rubber temple inserts and nose pads are formulated to soften in contact with body heat, creating a custom-molded grip that tightens during sweating. The frame passes ASTM F1447 impact resistance testing at temperatures from -10°C to 40°C. An elastic retaining strap with quick-release buckle is included.
